Temporary resident visa (visitor)

The temporary resident visa, called a visitor visa, is an official document provided by the Government of Canada. It indicates that the visitor meets the requirements to enter Canada. Some people may need this type of visa to transit through a Canadian airport on their way to their final destination.

The duration of this document is usually six months, but it could be shorter or longer. If the visitor does not have a stamp in their passport, then they can stay in Canada for six months or until their passport expires, whichever comes first.

Super Visa

With the Super Visa, your eligible parents and grandparents can visit you in Canada for up to two years, without having to renew their status. This document is a multiple entry visa which is valid for a maximum of 10 years. Only Canadian citizens and permanent residents of Canada are eligible to apply for a super visa for their parents or grandparents.
